Wi-Fi, audio-video and security systems for hotels, restaurants and food service chains
In a hotel or a restaurant the guest notices the technology only when it fails: the Wi-Fi in the room, the sound at the table, the screen above the bar. Vega Security installs the systems guests use and the ones they never see.

The guest notices the Wi-Fi before the decor
A hotel has many rooms, thick walls and a guest in each one who expects the same connection as at home. A restaurant has an opening night that was announced weeks ago, a room where the music is too loud by the speakers and inaudible in the corner, and a back door that half the staff can open.
We work for the operator: the general manager or the chief engineer of a hotel, the owner of a restaurant or a bar, and the operations team of a group or a food service chain that wants every location to look and sound the same.
- Wi-Fi that reaches the corridor, not the roomAccess points in the hallways leave weak coverage behind each room door, and the reviews say so.
- Guests and hotel systems on one networkThe guest network shares equipment with the reservation desk, the payment terminals and the cameras.
- Sound that suits one table in threeSpeakers were placed where there was a wire, with one volume for the whole room.
- Keys and codes that leave with staffTurnover is high, and the back door, the office and the liquor room still open with what last year's employees were given.
- Water where it does the most damageA leak in a kitchen, a laundry or a room on an upper floor closes rooms and tables below.
Front of house, back of house and guest rooms
A restaurant may need only sound and cameras. A hotel may need all of it. Each system is quoted on its own.
- Enterprise Wi-FiDesigned from a survey of the rooms, the corridors and the event spaces, with enough capacity for a full ballroom and a guest network with its sign-in page, apart from the staff network.
- Fibre optic installation and cablingA backbone to every floor or a passive optical network to every room, for a building where copper would need a telecom closet on each level.
- Commercial audio and videoMusic that is even across the dining room, zones with their own volume for the bar, the terrace and the washrooms, screens for menus and sports, and rooms that combine or divide with the sound following.
- Video surveillanceCameras at the entrances, the reception, the bar, the receiving door and the parking, with remote viewing for the owner or the manager.
- Access controlStaff entrances, offices, storage and liquor rooms opened by card, with rights by role and by shift, cancelled the day someone leaves.
- Network security (IDS/IPS)A firewall and separate zones for guests, payment equipment, staff and building systems, and secure links between the locations of a group.
- VoIP and business telephonyThe reception, the reservations line and the back office on one system, with call routing by time of day and several locations working as one.
- Water Leak Detection SystemSensors and shut-off valves for the kitchen, the laundry, the mechanical rooms and the risers that serve the guest rooms.
- Cellular signal boostingMobile coverage in the underground parking, the basement kitchen and the event rooms at the centre of the building.
- Intrusion alarmThe restaurant or the bar protected after closing, with a code for each key holder and alerts to the people responsible.
- Structured cabling and LANOutlets for the order terminals, the kitchen screens, the access points and the cameras, and a rack that is ventilated and labelled.
For an opening date, or room by room in a hotel that stays open
A new restaurant and a hotel in operation are two different jobs. We plan each around what cannot be interrupted.
- A visit and a conversation about the service
For a restaurant: the floor plan, the bar, the kitchen and the atmosphere you want. For a hotel: the rooms, the risers, the event spaces and what guests complain about today.
- Design with your designer or your brand standard
Speakers, screens and access points are placed with the interior design, or to the standard of your banner when there is one, and cable routes are agreed before the finishes.
- Installation around the guests
In a fit-out we follow the contractor up to opening night. In an operating hotel we take a block of rooms or a floor at a time, at the hours the front desk gives us.
- Tuning with the room full of sound
Volumes, zones and screens are set with you in the room, the staff are shown the control panel, and the Wi-Fi is measured again once the furniture is in.

What the general manager and the owner keep
- A control panel that staff use without training: source, zone, volume
- Wi-Fi coverage maps as measured after installation
- The system diagram and the settings on record, so that they can be restored
- Administrator access to the cameras, the doors and the network
- One team to call when a room, a screen or a zone stops working
Establishments we work in
- Hotels and conference hotels
- Restaurants and bars
- Restaurant groups and food service chains
- Banquet and event spaces

Questions from hotel and restaurant operators
Can everything be ready for our opening night?
That is the point of planning it early. Cabling goes in with the other trades, equipment is installed as the finishes allow, and the tuning is done in the last days. Tell us the date at the first call.
Can you upgrade the Wi-Fi of a hotel without closing rooms?
Yes. We work by floor or by block of rooms, in the hours when they are vacant, and coordinate each day with the front desk. The existing network stays in service until the new one covers the area.
Do we need fibre to each room?
Not always. It depends on the building, on the pathways and on what the rooms must carry. We compare a switched copper network with a passive optical network for your building and explain the difference in cost and in space.
Can the staff change the music and the volume themselves?
Yes. A wall panel or a tablet gives them the sources, the zones and the volume, and nothing else. The settings that should not be changed stay out of reach.
We have several restaurants. Can they be identical?
Yes. We write one standard for sound, screens, cameras and network, then repeat it in each location, adapted to the floor plan.

Tell us whether the establishment is open or being built, the opening date if there is one, and what you want guests to see and hear. We reply by e-mail or phone.
For a hotel, the number of rooms and floors is enough for a first conversation.
